Firstly, we identify the fibre and the stability of the dyes which allows us to choose the correct method of cleaning e.g, real silk rugs should only be dry cleaned.

The rug is thoroughly vacuumed to remove deeply embedded dust. For wool, we use a cleaning solution approved by the "Woolsafe" organisation. The cleaning solution is gently worked into the fabric which loosens embedded dirt.

Following the pre-treatment process we rinse using fresh water, the waste being immediately extracted by three powerful vacuums which ensures the rug is not overwet.

It must be allowed to dry thoroughly, not rolled up or placed on a carpet as dye may transfer onto the carpet below. For this reason it is often more practical to take the rug away for cleaning to a place where it can dry safely and thoroughly.
